“Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius—and a lot of courage—to move in the opposite direction.”
The Call of Cthulhu
Print, Book Design, Typography, Illustration
Minimalistic design with high contrast, this book was designed to express the madness of the story within. Cthulhu is a monster most famous for the squid-like tentacles that make his mouth, and to look at him is said to drive a man mad. The illustrations are inspired by Warshak ink blot tests and there is one illustration for each part of the story, leading up to a portrait of Cthulhu for the last part. The final illustration, larger and more chaotic than the previous ones, forces the reader to look at Cthulhu, driving them mad.

Lucid Soda is a new product designed around the idea that artificial coloring in soda is not only unhealthy, but unnecessary to draw interest and inspire the consumer. A very minimalist artistic style is used, while bright, bold colors draw attention. The logomark mimics offset printing and plays with the definition of “Lucid,” meaning both clear and vivid. The colored stripes on the inside of the label make the product more interesting and invite the consumer to interact with the bottle.
