Designing and creating a whole book was quite the challenge. Many aspects needed to be considered in the design. Typography, layout, cover design, production and research were just a few of the challenges. By utilizing micro typography and keeping a consistent visual voice, the gritty, dark world of Charles Bukowski is reinvigorated and given a new light that is more engaging and open to readers. Melissa Kiepke is a musician and music educator who needed a website that would serve as a showcase of her music and also be a functional way for her to communicate her thoughts. She also wanted the site to have a fun theme that would reflect her personality. The solution was to create a site with several pages and modify a WordPress theme to serve as a blog.
